At carbgirl.com, we want to be clear to our users about how information is collected and used. We use several Third party services to help provide you with a more pleasurable experience on this website as well as to stay in contact with you via social channels. The information below describes the types of information collected and how it is used.
Information You Provide to Us
We collect personal information, such as your name and email address, when you register for our email newsletter or use our post comment system here on the blog. Your user name, email address and any optional profile information that you elect to associate with your accounts on these services is referred to herein as your “Profile Information.” We use MailChimp (privacy policy) for our email newsletter service.
You may opt-out of receiving Marketing Messages at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every newsletter.
If you email us we may retain a record of such email communication, including your email address, the content of your email, and our response.
Information We Collect Automatically
Cookies.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Log Files. When you use the website, our webhost’s servers automatically record certain information in server logs. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on the Service, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, mobile carrier, and other such information. Log files help us to monitor, analyze, improve and maintain the Service and to diagnose and fix any Service-related issues.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Risks Inherent in Sharing Information
We allow you control over where you share Personal Information and we rely on third party services to take reasonable steps to maintain the security.
